Shenyang offering consular and notarial services from 15 June

The Australian Consulate-General in Shenyang is now offering consular and notarial services. Passport services continue to be provided by the Australian Embassy in Beijing. More information can be found here.

Appointments for consular and notarial services are currently available Tuesday mornings 9.30am to 12.30pm from 15 June We are assessing demand and will extend appointment hours as demand increases.

Consul-General

On 2 March 2019 Senator the Hon Marise Payne, Minister for Foreign Affairs announced the appointment of Mr Broughton Robertson as Australia's first Consul-General in Shenyang.

From 2015 to 2018, Broughton was Director of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s (DFAT) China Political and External Section. He joined DFAT in 1996, with postings to Hong Kong, the Philippines and Turkey, where he was Deputy Head of Mission.
 
In Canberra, Broughton has worked in DFAT on bilateral relations with China, Indonesia and India.   Broughton has a Bachelor of Arts (Auckland); Master of Letters in East Asian Studies (ANU); Master of International Law (ANU); and LLM in Chinese and Comparative Law (HK City University).
